Our Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1964 Ford Thunderbird for sale. For 1964 the Thunderbird was restyled in favor of a more squared-off appearance, which was mostly evident when viewing the car from the side or rear. Hinting at its roots in the previous generation Thunderbird that it evolved from, the new model retained a similar grille design with dual headlights and a 113" wheelbase. As before, the new Thunderbird continued to be offered in hardtop, convertible, and Landau versions. The 300 horsepower 390ci V8 continued as the standard engine for the Thunderbird. It was paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This Ford Thunderbird is looking for the next owner to give it some love and restore it back to showroom condition. This is such an iconic brand for cruising and the automotive scene. Options include;AC, AM radio, hub cabs, power steering, power brakes, power windows, slide away wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires and extra original wheel covers. The “square-bird” four-seater models that replaced Ford’s iconic Thunderbird roadsters are considered the original “personal luxury” cars.
Barrett-Jackson auctioned off in Scottsdale the impeccable silver-gray 1956 Ford Thunderbird that the legendary Frank Sinatra drove around Palm Springs, California, when he was not off with the rest of the Rat Pack.
Strikingly elegant was the thought that popped to mind when this triple black 1966 Ford Thunderbird appeared as I clicked through candidates for Pick of the Day.
