Porsche 911 coupe finished in desirable Ice Green Metallic. In
ourpersonal collection for nearly two years and maintained with an
open checkbook-- this is one of the best driving and "set-up"
mid-year cars youwill find.Extensive records dating back to the
early 1980s this 911was in the northwest for most of its life but
spent time in Germany when itsowner an Army medical officer shipped
it over while stationed there. Orderedin unusual Ice Green Metallic
over leather-to-sample olive green interior withsport seats. It is
also optioned with power windows power sunroof intermittentwipers
A/C (inop) and Fuchs.Service during our ownership totaling over
$10000 hasincluded an engine out service partial reseal
transmission rebuild withclutch axles shocks wheel bearings brakes
steering linkage alignmentrefinished Fuchs with Michelins shifter
and throttle linkage rebuildwindshield gasket and body weather
strip replacement H4 headlight upgrade andmore -- on top of regular
maintenance (oil changes valve adjustments etc). The2.7 was rebuilt
in the past and has Carrera tensioners -- it runs great andpulls
strong.Interior is mostly original and shows well; seat leather
issoft and the sport seats are supremely comfortable. Minor patina
existsthroughout but it is a pleasant place to spend time. Likewise
the older repaintin the correct color has some patina and touch-ups
but shows as an honest carand always gets compliments.We've used
this 911 regularly for touring and rally eventswhere it often sees
500-plus miles in a weekend and we would feel comfortabledriving it
anywhere reliably. 1974 is an interesting year for the 911 as
ittransitioned to the G-body but retained many of the earlier
cars'characteristics like the silver trim early dash and single
chrome mirror -- italso was not yet hampered by the smog equipment
of the later narrow body cars.This truly is a driver's 911 and if
you are looking for aunique and well-sorted example that is
eligible for many vintage car rallies --and is smog-exempt in
California -- we encourage you to put this one on yourshort list.
