Vehicle Description
Stk 2264 1970 Dodger Dart Swinger RT
The Dodge Division of Chrysler Motors produced hundreds of
thousands of these Darts, but never one like this. The following
description is simply an overview of this stunning, fully restored
1970 Dart Swinger R/T resto-mod. There are so many technical
engineering modifications to this car that it must be seen to be
appreciated. That said, the donor car was a 1970 slant-six,
automatic Swinger - 55,000 miles, garage kept. Virtually all of the
sheet metal on the car is still original. It was prepped and
repainted (2013) '70 Hemi Orange Metallic with a logo hood and R/T
graphics. The rear tail sections and the firewall were molded and
the chassis was tied with frame connectors. A 5.7L Hemi engine was
taken from a 2005 Dodge (55k miles) along with a 5-speed automatic
transmission. The electronics are controlled with a
StreetPerformance wiring harness. Cooling is managed by a custom
radiator/shroud and electric fans. An 8" Ford rear holds a Detroit
Truetrac differential with 3.23:1 gearing. Power front disc brakes
are from a Chrysler New Yorker and rears are drums. Power-assist
steering is handled by the one-off custom 'rear steer' rack and
pinion set-up designed and manufactured by Flaming River
Industries, Inc. Front and rear sway bars help track Magnum 15"
wheels that hold '60' Series BF Goodrich Radial T/As. The interior
is comfortable, but all business. A custom dash holds a full gauge
package from SpeedHut. Vintage Air handles cooling requirements and
a Sony AM/FM/CD system provides sound. Front bucket seats were
redone, a new headliner was added and new carpeting was installed.
If you are old-school MOPAR, come look at this Dart. It is an
investment that will not disappoint. Call 800-650-1055 or visit our
