The year 1946 marked mark the first year of postwar automobile
production for Cadillac. Like many other automakers, Cadillac chose
to re-release their prewar models with minor changes. For 1946
Cadillac offered four models: Series 60 Special Fleetwood, Series
61, Series 62, and Series 75 Fleetwood. The Series 75 Fleetwood was
offered in six different body configurations: five-passenger
four-door sedan, seven-passenger four-door sedan, nine-passenger
business sedan, nine-passenger Imperial business sedan,
seven-passenger Imperial sedan, and a commercial chassis.
This 1946 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood Seven-Passenger Sedan is one
of 221 made. It is presented in white with a blue interior. The
front driver's seat is upholstered in vinyl, while the rear seats
are velour. The car is powered by a 346-cid V-8 engine paired with
a manual transmission. The car sits on whitewall tires and has
received a cosmetic restoration.
According to the current owner, the car was originally owned by
Senator Rupert Davies, publisher of the Kingston Whig Standard and
father of Canadian author Robert Davies.
