Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Ford Mustang
Hardtop Coupe for purchase. When Ford introduced the 1st generation
of Mustangs they flipped the entire automotive industry on its ear.
The unibody design was much smaller, lighter, and more rigid than
anything available. Designed in majority by L. David Ash, the
Mustang project had been given five goals for the design of the
Mustang: it would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor-mounted
shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180
inches in length, sell for less than $2,500, and have multiple
power, comfort, and luxury options.
This American classic came from the dry and warm climate of
California where a restoration had been started. It was bought by a
dealership in Michigan and the restoration was finished and the car
was completed. It was then sold locally and the car was loved and
cared for and driven on sunny days. The block is not the original
engine block. The 289 v8 fires right up and runs as it should. The
Autolite 2100 2 barrel carburetor was rebuilt and cleaned in 2014.
The Automatic transmission shifts as it should through all the
gears properly. The car shows some small signs of age and a few
light scratches, but overall shows very well. The black vinyl
interior shows well for its age. The car rides on its factory steel
wheels with factory hubcaps. The odometer is not currently turning
and working at this time. This Mustang comes with an owner's
manual, folder full of receipts for work that was done over the
years and an full inspection report from 2011. This is a great
entry level muscle car that is perfect for anyone to get behind the
wheel and enjoy the open road and not break the bank doing so.
