Vehicle Description
Stk. 2256 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Spyder Convertible
The Spyder option on the Corvair Monza added a whole new dimension
to the car. The 145ci flat six received a boost in horsepower and a
turbo-sound that was unique to the '60s. This 1963 Spyder
convertible has had the same owner for the last 12 years and was
restored 2 years ago. The Burgundy exterior is nicely complemented
with black vinyl top (power) and restored vinyl interior that looks
totally original. The stock 13" rims sport rare factory wire-wheels
(5). . To upgrade the Spyder's performance capabilities, GM
replaced the standard dual carb set-up with a side-draft Carter YH
fed by a single-stage Thompson-Ramo turbocharger. The result was
150bhp and an engine that would pull hard to 5,000RPMs. This
particular motor was rebuilt, but appears to be all-stock as far as
components are concerned. It is mated to a 4-speed manual transaxle
that shifts smoothly. Brakes are manual 4-wheel drum. This
award-winning Spyder has just recently received a full service and
is ready for some beach fun. Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website
