The 1979 Trans Am is already an irresistible-looking classic with
V8 power, but when you add in bold paint and an A/C interior, it
makes this an all-around stunner at an obtainable price.
The second-generation Trans Am was a seriously intimidating
package. The wide ground effects in front of the wheel wells,
integrated rear spoiler, and shaker-style hood, gives this a real
presence on the streets. When the dent-resistant Endura front end
is as complete as this one, it's a dead giveaway someone took
serious care of this coupe. This new for 1979 look gave this one a
more aggressive beak, that perfectly complements the hallmark hood
bird graphic. It only gets better as this whole car looks like it's
breathing fire thanks to the blazing paintwork. It's the kind of
bright red that helps grab attention away from the black Smokey and
the Bandit replicas. In fact, this one reminds us a bit of another
famous Burt Reynolds Pontiac. Remember the red Trans Am hardtop
from the movie Hooper? Yes, this one certainly looks the part from
that speed demon stuntman flick.
Inside is a selection of the perfect features. The black cloth
buckets are high-backed and well bolstered for an exceptionally
nice feeling. Other comfort options include the power windows,
power locks, cruise control, and a tilt column for the iconic
three-spoke steering wheel. The driver gets to face the cool
machined aluminum dash, and everyone gets an upgrade with the
AM/FM/CD stereo. Speaking of everyone's comfort, there's nothing
better than having the factory air conditioning ready to cool down
this red-hot Trans Am.
The 403 cubic-inch V8 is the correct powerplant for this coupe, and
it even features a date-correct block. It lives in an exceptionally
tidy engine bay that has the blue block radiating from within the
deep black components. But what everyone will really take notice of
is the ultra-cool shaker-style air topper (although this still
correctly inhales through the front.) But more than just look cool,
the V8 inhales deeply through the correct Rochester four-barrel
carburetor, and exhales with a sweet rumble out of the dual
exhaust. The big torque of the big V8 moves the sporty coupe
easily, but there's more to this car's story. The Trans Ams were
celebrated for being one of the best handing vehicles of their
time, and that's thanks to a full package that includes front disc
brakes and BF Goodrich T/As on the iconic snowflake wheels. Add in
the three-speed automatic transmission and power steering, and this
is a great all around classic cruiser.
A great V8 classic that looks stellar inside and out, and it has
all the right features you want. It's a total package classic that
won't wait long at this price. Call now!!
