This gorgeous 1939 GMC truck spent its whole life in California before its recent arrival to me here in the Atlanta, GA area. The gentleman I purchased it from had owned it for a little less than a year when he traded his Harley and cash for this amazing truck. The owner before him owned the truck for 25 years and about 5 years ago decided to go all out and build his dream truck with no expense spared. I was told that there was over $70,000 spent on the frame-off restoration and I can tell you it was money well spent as the finished product is a serious show truck that is set up to be driven and enjoyed. Enjoyed it was, with about 7000 miles on the build according to the previous owner who enjoyed taking it to a variety of shows where he took home a trophy every time.  This awesome truck still retains the unique styling of the original with the benefit of a modern drive train, suspension, and other amenities that make it a an absolute joy to drive.

As mentioned this '39 GMC lived a dry rust free life in California and was treated to a high end, professional, frame off restoration a little over 5 years ago. The paint and body are truly outstanding and near flawless.  The body is all steel with the exception of the rear fenders which are a high quality fiberglass.  The 2 tone color combination of Silver and Charcoal metallic is tastefully separated with an Inferno Red stripe. Body panels are extremely straight and body panel gaps are fantastic. Doors line up and shut beautifully. The overall paint quality is show quality. Keep in mind that the restoration was done a little over 5 years ago and about 7000 miles have been put on it since completion. Therefore it is not flawless, although pretty darn close. The only real spot on the body I noticed a flaw was on the passenger side bed panel in front of the rear fender where is a small pop in the paint from something that must have kicked up. Amazingly there are practically no rock chips on the front fenders but to be safe lets assume there may be an extremely small rock chip or two I may have missed. I do have small cans of paint for touch up if ever needed with the paint codes. This truck has beautiful body lines and the chrome grille and Art Deco style headlights are the highlight in my opinion.  The chrome grille was redone and looks fabulous. Turn signals neatly hidden in the front grille area.  Door handles were shaved for a cleaner look with electric poppers that work great. Gas filler was neatly added to the drivers side rear fender.  Tailgate with the GMC logo has been professionally painted to match the trucks color theme.  The front windshield still cranks out as it did originally and the front air vent still functions correctly. Custom rear roll pan with brake lights neatly frenched in.  Rear tailgate is functional with neat set of latches installed on the inside. Gorgeous African mahogany wood bed rounds out the beauty.

Of course the  beauty of this '39 GMC continues as you open the drivers side door and see the beautiful custom Red leather interior.  Door panels have great design detail and the custom split bench seat is very comfortable and gives the appearance of bucket seats.  Gray carpeting and gray suede headliner accent the red leather beautifully.  A chrome Idid-it tilt steering column allows the driver more room and can be adjusted for driving comfort.  Custom Auto meter gauges providing all the vital data were neatly installed and all seem to work correctly.  Ice cold vintage air conditioning blows through the vents in the dash and heat also works.  Great sound from the Sony am/fm/cd Bluetooth stereo that is neatly mounted in the glove box area with remote. The glovebox also houses the ignition switch and controls for the Ac and heat.  An old school style fan is mounted above the windshield and courtesy lights are also installed in the headliner area. Power windows operate smoothly and the switches are mounted under the drivers side of the dash and also work from the remote.   Overall the interior is also near flawless although I did note a few small marks on the drivers door panel that could be touched up and the headliner on the passenger side could be pulled a bit tighter.  Like the exterior, the interior would also be considered to be show quality and you will be proud to show it off everywhere you go.

At this point hopefully you are impressed by the quality and look of this '39 GMC and now just want to know if it runs and drives as good as it looks....the answer is absolutely yes!!!!  The gentleman who had this truck restored intended on driving it and wanted to make sure it would handle todays roads with ease and would also have plenty of horsepower to leave most who dared challenge him in the dust.  Well he certainly accomplished his mission and the ZZ4 Crate 350 V8 puts out 355+ horsepower which will set you back in your seat in a hurry leaving a grin from ear to ear!!!  Fuel is provided through the Holley 650 double pumper and a custom set of ceramic coated headers breath out the amazing sounding dual exhaust that exists neatly in the middle of the custom rear roll pan. A nicely built 700R4 automatic transmission shifts strong and provides easy driving at highway speeds. Frame has been modified to accommodate the C4 Corvette front and rear suspension providing for rack and pinion steering and power 4 wheel disc brakes.  This '39 handles the road amazingly as a result and is an absolute joy to drive. Aluminum radiator and electric fans keep this Hot Rod running cool at all times.  Fantastic stance with a great set of custom 17" Budnik wheels on all four corners wrapped in performance radials. Rear tires are starting to show some wear.  The hood is a work of art in and of itself with a custom built support system that works great. The engine bay itself is nicely detailed with milled valve covers and polished air cleaner and you will be quite proud to pop the hood at the shows and cruise-ins.  Engine bay side panels can be removed if desired or needed. The undercarriage is also extremely clean but this '39 is not a trailer queen and loves to be driven. The previous owner installed a high end Viper Security system that also has a remote start feature as well as quite a few other features. You can download  the Viper app on your smart phone and control all of the remote functions from your phone.  The remote controls the door poppers, power windows and remote start feature.  A custom cover is also included. Make sure you watch and listen to the video that follows to hear how amazing this '39 GMC sounds!!! Bottom line is this Hot Rod Collectible truck runs and drives as good as it looks!!!
