Vehicle Description
This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray hits all the high notes of
originality, including its matching-numbers small block V8,
attention grabbing paint, interesting interior, and all the right
paperwork. Best of all, it's all available at a very attractive
price tag.
War Bonnet Yellow is a great Corvette color. While popular, it was
only available for a few years, so 'Vette people love it. That's
why we're particularly excited that this special hue is not only
factory-correct, but also we suspect much if it could be factory
original. The headlights fit flush, all trim is complete, and the
doors close with confidence - that's the kind of care you get with
what's believed to be a one-owner Stingray. And we absolutely
understand why someone would cherish a car like this. These earlier
C3s combine the long and low American look with the flying buttress
rear and Kamm-back styling of the Europeans. The earlier C3s are
also for the brightwork lovers, and so it's very important that the
front panel, lower rockers, rear bumper, and all the other shining
panels be as comprehensive as this one. Of course, no classic Chevy
sports car looks complete without the iconic Rally wheels.
The dark green interior is a great complement to the yellow on the
outside. And just like the exterior, this factory correct color
appears to be mostly original. Not only does this green really
represent the era nicely, but also the dark hue allows the silver
accents to pop on everything from the door panels to the
three-spoke steering wheel. For the driver, the dual pod gauges are
in front of you with a full auxiliary readout package prominently
to the side. You can take off the T-tops and remove the rear window
to listen to the roar of the engine singing behind you. But if you
really don't like getting your hair blown around, this one even has
provisions for R134a air conditioning.
Power comes from the original, matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8.
This one benefits from a heavy breathing and very correct Rochester
four-barrel carburetor that has been rebuilt over the car's
lifetime. As you dig deeper, you'll see plenty of signs of good
maintenance, and start to realize just how much of a high-quality
survivor this is (even the original air topper comes with the
sale.) The V8 is mated to a stout three-speed automatic
transmission to give this C3 the flexibility to intimidate through
its dual exhaust or just cruise comfortably on the highway. In
fact, this Stingray has plenty of great features that help both
performance and luxury. This includes the power steering,
four-wheel disc brakes and modern Firestone Firehawk tires for
all-around good grip. This is a total package car that you won't
believe how nicely the motor fires and how true it keeps out on the
open road.
Complete with all the right paperwork, including the original
window sticker, owner's manual, and maintenance records, this is
one special surviving Corvette. You already know what kind of
attention a coupe like this gets from the classic car crowds, and
you already know how nicely this one is priced. So you also know
how fast you need to be to grab it. Call today!!!
