Original owner selling his gently treated, immaculately maintained and always clean, 1983 Delorean. I bought this 1983 model brand new in late 1982 at Kerr Cadillac in Oakville, Ontario, Canada
This car is so clean because its never gotten dirty in the first place. It has only been driven in nice weather and has always been responsibly driven. Look at the numerous close up photos. Ever detail is clean. It has the perfect amount and type of "maintenance mileage". This car has been driven for half hour drives regularly (twice a week Spring, Summer and Fall), with less frequent longer drives of 1 to 2 hours several times per year. During winter, car is run in clean underground condo garage for 20 to 30 minutes (long enough to bring oil to full operating temperature for 5 minutes) twice a month during the 4 to 5 winter months. It has always received exactly what maintenance is required without delay. This car has had very few issues and has been extremely reliable. New air conditioning compressor installed a few years ago. Excellent tires and brakes. No accidents or minor mishaps.
This car has been very tastefully, professionally upgraded to significantly improve the interior of the car. The interior has been fitted with professionally designed, genuine leather wrapped, custom manufactured (CNC fabricated, heavy gage aluminium sheet metal) center console, instrument hood, dash top, rear cargo area treatments and speaker housings (behind seats). Additional high quality sound dampening materials added. Dash and door panels have been leather wrapped and fitted with anodized aluminium, inset trim strip pieces to match look and details of other custom made elements to tie everything together. The resulting look (more angular and straight lined than stock) is a much better match for the crisp, clean and edgy lines of the exterior. Also compared with the stock 1980's GM quality interior materials, the upgraded materials are obviously much higher grade and much more expensive looking. This gives the interior of the car a more exotic car look, again to better match the exterior. I have shown this car at several car shows and the interior is always the star of the show with many photos taken and many comment received with regards to how much better the interior looks than the stock interior. The interior rear view mirror has been upgraded to one with built in compass, outside temp. and reading/map lights. Canadian speedometer indicates 160 MPH and 240 KPH max.
Excellent sounding Boston Acoustics component speaker system and ADS amplifier. Head unit is motorized extend and retract, 10" wide screen full colour display with GPS, automatic back up camera view, CD, DVD, USB, Bluetooth, etc.
The three exterior upgrades are subtle. 1; The rear is fitted with a custom designed CNC manufactured, stainless steel and black rear exhaust valance (see close up and rear view photos). This significantly improves clean lines of rear view by blocking some of the view of the undercarriage. To the non Delorean expert it looks stock, like it should have been designed and manufactured in the first place. 2; Also, a custom fabricated aluminium third brake light has also been installed at top of rear louvers (see close up and rear view photos). This may lower your car insurance or prevent being rear ended (Deloreans are low). 3; A custom manufactured front lower, air dam grill in aluminium silver color has also been installed to improve look with upgraded materials and to give some additional detail to the front end view (see close up and front view photos).
The stainless steel body is immaculate. Not a scratch, ding or scuff! Stainless grain is fantastic. (See close up photos).
The engine compartment has been kept clean without use of spray degreasers that can so often lead to mechanical problems when lubricants are washed out of bearings. Engine compartment as with all mechanical areas has been kept clean by hand cleaning with soft cloths.
This car is rare in this condition. Many look good in photos but disappoint when seen in person and examined more closely. Instead of disappointment, this car will only amaze the viewer after close inspection. Every crevasse is clean, even around exterior screw heads! Gaskets are fantastic! You can not buy a car like this in the southern US because there would be so much damage from sun. This car has always been in climate controlled garage and often under soft cover and even has it's own private "slip" in underground garage with no cars, only walls, at front and both sides of car.
