Vehicle Description
Leadfoot is excited to offer for sale an impressive 1964 GTO
convertible. This true, Numbers Matching GTO is an original
California car delivered new to Mc Kissick Pontiac that has since
gone through a detailed frame off restoration. Restored in
1997/1998 to near factory specifications with only a few major
variances; the car left the Fremont Assembly plant with a single 4
barrel carb, and the interior was Parchment in color rather than
the Black vinyl that we see in the car currently. We know that the
Tri-Power setup was many times added at the dealership in place of
the 4-barrel, this may have been the case with this particular
car.
The car has a number of great options from the factory including
power steering, power brakes, power top and power windows. Along
with the bucket seats the interior also features factory Tach,
center console, padded dashboard, front seat belts, and Custom
AutoSound Radio in place of the factory radio. (Factory Radio comes
with the car as well.) Most interior trim and upholstery is like
new and shows very well.
Paint and body is excellent on this GTO. All trim and lights are
like new and chrome bumpers are in excellent condition.
This GTO's Tri-Power setup consists of Rochester carbs on the 325
hp 389ci V8. The two speed automatic is GTO specific and sends
power to the rear wheels through a rear axle with 3.23 gears. This
car also has Hurst wheels that are in exceptional condition with
beauty rings and center-caps present.
Although it is not a GTO sport coupe, this is a gorgeous car, and
we have discovered that with the top down it is much easier to hear
the exhaust note from the 389ci V8!
