Vehicle Description
The Dodge B Series Pickups were sold from 1948 to 1953. The B1-B
were ton trucks standard with a 95 hp flathead inline 6 cylinder
engine. The featured a high-visibility "pilot-house" cab with
optional rear quarter windows. The engine was shifted forward and
front axle moved back of the frame for better weight distribution
and shorter wheel base. The cab was designed to fit 3 people and
the cargo bed was bade higher to increase cargo capacity by 40%.
These trucks were rugged and reliable and found many uses by all
the tradesman.
The 1949 Dodge B Series Pickup offered here is a fairly original
example powered by its flathead 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed
manual transmission. It has the optional rear quarter glass for
increased visibility and finished in two town tan / brown exterior
paint with coordinating interior. It features an older re-paint, 9
window cab, original stainless and trim, signature ram hood
ornament, classic wood bed, steel wheels, hubcaps and white wall
tires. All the body panels appear to be original as does the dash
and gauges. This is a very usable truck that starts right up with
no smoke, good clutch and transmission and brakes. Use it the way
it is or restore it to its original glory. At the price offered
here, it leaves room for either option.
