GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1961 Chevrolet Impala
Bubble top for purchase. The 3rd generation of Impala was born for
the 1961 model year. The bubble top was only offered in 1961,
making this car highly sought after. This car is believed to have
come from Pennsylvania where it stayed for a while and then made
its way to Michigan and received a restoration and was given a
different engine and transmission. A healthy 355 was built with
flat top pistons, new Edelbrock 650 carburetor, and a performer
aluminum intake. The block is painted and presents well. It has
Corvette valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. The engine is
paired with a M21 Muncie 4 speed. The cars runs and handles as it
should and it breathes through dual exhaust.
The Impala features disc brakes in the front with a dual master
cylinder with a proportioning valve. According to the owner there
is a fluid damper. The exterior is dressed in white over a white
and grey interior with a bench seat in the front and a bench seat
in the rear. The car rides on 1982 Corvette collector wheels that
are 8x15. This car handles well and is sure to leave a smile on
your face.
