Vehicle Description
The 1965 Shelby Cobra is an international icon of speed. But more
than just look the part, there are a few cut-above replicas that
can deliver champion-level performance. This Superformance car with
its fully independent suspension, lightweight construction, and 600
hp 427 V8 proves that this is the top of the Cobra hierarchy.
Superformance is one of the most accurate Cobra manufacturers, and
they took great pains to get the shape exactly right before they
started pulling molds. As a result, this super slick little
roadster looks like a million bucks, with great lines and an
awesome shine that definitely makes it stand out. The red paint has
a stellar finish that makes this a coupe you'll be proud to show
off. Mixed in with that great paint is a set of white racing
stripes, because this one truly is a competition-bred machine.
Details like the driver roll hoop, racing gas cap, jacking stubs,
and the bold side pipes not only add serious flair, but also
suggest that it was built for combat. And of course, no one will
mistake you for anything but a speed machine thanks to the iconic
Halibrand-style knock off wheels and staggered tire size for added
aggression.
The interior definitely gets the Shelby attitude right, with
wrap-around buckets, racing seatbelts, and a fire extinguisher on
the rear panel. The driver gets the full Cobra experience with the
three-spoke AC wood steering wheel, and the Mustang shift lever
that's been reversed to fit the driver perfectly. The full Smiths
gauge package is Cobra correct, right down to the reverse position
speedometer. If you do get caught in the rain, the full folding top
and side curtains are a great friend to get you home, and the
tonneau is nice for early mornings on the track. There's no radio,
no power windows, no A/C - this is a competition machine that's all
about the driving experience and nothing else needs to get in the
way.
Speaking of the driving experience, the best part of a Cobra is
always under the hood. The engine bay has that perfect shiny
appearance that will certainly attract crowds... but this is a
Cobra, and its primary mission is to be the fastest sports car
around. That's why beneath the flash is the substance of a big
block built for some serious performance. It's a side oiler 427
cubic-inch V8 built by Southern Automotive - authorities in blue
oval big block performance. The motor includes dual FAST fuel
injection, Edelbrock Performer heads, aluminum radiator w/dual
electric fans, and ceramic headers. The full package is rated
around 600 horsepower, and the thunderous road of those side pipes
do a terrific job of announcing your power superiority. Best of
all, you are still going to be braking in this monster motor
considering there is less than 1,600 miles on the whole build. The
power reliably gets to the ground thanks to the stout Tremec TKO600
five-speed, feeding a limited slip rear end running versatile 3.73
gears. On the road or racetrack, you'll instantly feel the
confidence the fully independent suspension with adjustable
coilovers gives you. There's even four-wheel disc brakes so your
stopping power will match your performance driving.
Complete with owner's manual, this one is competitive fun on the
street or track. A Cobra is a dream for a lot of us, so hurry up
before a well-sorted, low-mileage, and speedy Superformance build
gets snatched up by someone else. Call today!!!
