1929 Essex
Extreme Detail
Super Nice Street Rod
Being offered is a super rare and very cool 1929 Essex, this vehicle has detail to the max and is an excellent driver. This car was built by the prior owner who built a couple of well know street rods in our area, he was also a well known artist in the area who used the undercarriage of this car as a canvas for some of his work. This vehicle received a Frame off build 30 years ago and has been well cared for since. This vehicle is not only a very nice street rod but is like a traveling piece of artwork that is tastefully done. This is the story that goes with the car:
"Years ago used car salesmen used the sales pitch "an old maid school teacher bought this car new and just drove it to school and always garaged the car", this was true about this car. Miss Edna Marie Gase, a Hamilton Ohio school teacher bought this car new in 1929. She drove it until World War 2. During the war gas and tires were rationed, causing her to garage the car, she never drove it again. The prior owner bought the car in 1972 at her estate sale and chose to convert in into a street rod. Check out the photos of the undercarriage as a testament to the quality and detail that are part of the car.
The Essex during 1918-1932 was a product of the Hudson motor company of Detroit, Michigan. This model helped push Hudson and Essex sales to over 300,000 in 1929.
