Vehicle Description
The story of the creation of this car is as interesting as the car
itself. The builder of this car was the owner of a nearly identical
car in the mid 1960's when he raced it at infamous Lions Raceway in
Wilmington Ca as a teenager. After a career as an auto shop teacher
(and an ASA Master Technician) the now retired drag racer bought
this car from a relatives estate in Pasadena Ca in 2002 and began
transforming the car into a remake of his earlier car. The builder
of the car now had not only the financial means, but also the
technical knowledge to make the car better than he ever had when he
was racing all most same car. This car features a powerful 347 CID
410 horsepower engine mated to a C4 S&W transmission with a
B&M Shifter, power is put down by a Currie Ford 9" Detroit
Locker rear end, 4 wheel disc brakes, battery relocated to the
passenger side trunk, and remote control electric exhaust
cut-outs!! Additionally the car has rear air shocks to adjust the
stance to just the right rake! Equipment also includes working
heat, defroster, and windshield wipers. The car is easy to drive,
has plenty of power and handles with agility. The braking is strong
and linear, the 4 wheel disc brakes are a vast improvement from the
original binders. The car comes with two different completely
painted hoods, the metal one in these photos and a light weight
fiberglass Thunderbolt style hood. The two things you notice while
appraising this car is the excellent build quality/fit/finish and
the top quality components used in its 15 year build.
