Shelby Cobra FIA 50 th Anniversary. To celebrate the 50 th
Anniversary of the Cobra's introduction to the FIA racing world,
Shelby American created 50 numbered cars to pay homage to the
original record-setting race cars. Utilizing a feather light
chassis with the healthy power of an American V8, these cars were
regulars in the winner circle in the hands of famous driver's such
as Bob Bondurant, Lew Spencer, Ken Miles, Phil Hill, and Dan
Gurney. �The special limited-production continuation Cobras are
called CSX 7000 use modern materials and build processes while
retaining the looks of the classic racer. Starting with a hand-laid
fiberglass shell, this example was painted in the stunning period
correct Viking Blue accented by the Maroon FIA stripe and decals
matching the original CSX 2301 FIA comp car. This roadsters simple
interior is outfitted with beautiful black leather bucket seats and
competition race harnesses. The dash is trimmed and leather
equipped with Stewart Warner gauges and a wood rimmed steering
wheel. Exclusive to the Cobra are a billet engraved 50th
Anniversary Horn button and a 50 th Anniversary trunk mat.
Underneath this car is professionally built to handle any race
track or street driving you can throw at it. The Cobra is outfitted
with a mandrel bent tube frame to provide superior chassis rigidity
and a fully independent suspension to contribute to its first-class
handling. Open the hood and you will find a balanced and
blueprinted 331 cubic inch Shelby V8 that produces a ground
pounding 490 HP and 459 lb./ft. at a stout 10.4:1 compression
ratio. Induction is handled by 8 polished stacks with four Weber
carburetors underneath to create an accurate engine appearance.
Backed by a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed and a 3.54 Kirkham Torque-Trac
Differential rounds out this Cobra's bulletproof drivetrain. Lastly
the car was trimmed with bright halogen lighting, Monza style fuel
filler, FIA roll bar, Black quick lifts, Billet Badging and
driver's side bullet mirror. � This 1964 Shelby Cobra FIA 50 th
