MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 2004 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe, with the highly desirable and rarely seen 6-speed manual transmission. Born during the Daimler-Chrysler years, therear-drive Chrysler Crossfirewas built byKarmannof Germany for model years 2004-2008. The two-seater is based on theR170 platformand shares 80 percent of its components with the R170Mercedes-Benz SLK320. The name "Crossfire" refers to the two character lines that run from front to rear along the body sides crossing each other midway through the door panel. Conceived during the period ofChrysler's ownership byDaimler-Benz, the name also refers to the collaboration of the two companies. The Crossfire's fastback roof and broad rear fenders made for a design that prompted automotive journalists and writers to compare the new car to American Motors' 1965-1967Marlin. Dressed in Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic paint with a black cloth top, the car's exterior is in very good condition, with only minor blemishes visible upon close inspection. The tinted glass panels are all in great shape, including the glass backlight with rear defroster. The lights are all in good order. The car rolls on Hankook radials, size 225/40ZR18 in front and 255/35ZR19 in back. The truck lock id missing, but still opens from the interior release. Those tires surround black, seven-spoke factory alloy wheels. All of its body panels are straight, with power rear wing spoiler and the bumpers are in great condition. Chrysler executed the interior and exterior styling. All other elements of the car such as wheelbase, track, engine, transmission, and chassis structure and suspension components are shared with theMercedes-Benz R170 platform. An example of this is the engine bay of the Crossfire, which is virtually identical to the SLK320. The SLK320 seats will bolt directly into the Crossfire chassis. The dashboard layout, controls and instruments are also similar to those on the SLK320. After opening the either door, what draws your eye is the matte silver center stack and console, setting off the otherwise black instrument panel and interior. The dark slate gray leather bucket seats with available heat, eight-way power assist for the driver and four-way power for the passenger are in very good order. The matching carpet is also in very good shape. The headliner is gray and looks great. The aforementioned dashboard, four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, inner door panels with side airbags, mirror glass and shift lever are all in excellent shape. Driver assist features include cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, windshield wipers with intermittent feature, power steering, dual-zone air conditioning, remote keyless entry with central locking, including the fuel filler door, a universal garage door opener, power windows (one-touch down), stability and traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, dual front air bags plus door-mounted thorax side air bags and power four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Finishing the interior is a Becker AM/FM stereo with anti-theft, CD and an Infinity Modulus 240-watt amplifier with six speakers. The standardtransmissionis a six-speedmanualwith an optional five-speedautomatic. Standard and Limited models are equipped with a Mercedes-Benz 3.2L, 18-valve,SOHCV-6 engine. The manual transmission in the Crossfire is a variant of the Mercedes sourcedNSG-370. Unlike most cars of its time, the Crossfire does not use arack-and-pinionsteering system; instead, it utilizes arecirculating ballsystem as employed on the donorR170 platform.Front suspension is unequal length (SLA) double wishbone suspension with five-point multi link in the rear plus front and rear stabilizer bars. Competition to the Crossfire in 2004 included Acura's RSX, Alfa Romeo's GT, Audi's TT Coupe, BMW's 330Ci, Mazda's RX-8, Mercedes-Benz's C 320 Sportscoupe and Mitsubishi's Eclipse. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 90,488 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
