1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427ci/400hp in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Offered here is a rare powered and uniquely colored 1969 Chevrolet
Corvette Coupe. This 3rd generation Corvette is finished in factory
Monaco Orange (code 990) over a Black Vinyl (code ZQ4) interior. In
1969, only 22,129 Corvette coupes were produced and of those, only
2,072 came with the L68 427ci/400hp Tri-Power V8 engine. Combined
with the one-year Monaco Orange color and Factory AC, this Corvette
is a very rare find. It has been one man's labor of love since
1992...
In 1992, our client purchased this car with side pipes and a small
block, with the original engine sitting next to the car. Over the
past 25 years, he has slowly and meticulously restored the car back
to the original factory specifications. Today, as it stands for
sale, this C3 is powered by the original, numbers matching L68
427ci/400hp Tri-Power V8 engine mated to the original 4-speed
manual transmission. The engine has been completely rebuilt from
the bottom up. Everything functions as it should, including the
factory air. It is finished in the factory Monaco Orange paint and
runs/drives like the day it rolled off the showroom floor, if not
better. The car remains highly original, except for the aftermarket
radio and upgraded exhaust.
The car was featured in Vette Maganize (see photos) and comes with
a lot of extras, including the original owners manual, keys, T-Tops
and covers, removable rear window, parts catalog, assembly manual,
original sales brochure, and a personal scrapbook of the
restoration process.
It truly is remarkable Corvette, one that sounds as good as it
