The 2012 Monster 796 is touted for offering the perfect mix of
sports performance, dynamic design and daily riding pleasure. The
bike weighs just 167 kilograms and is equipped with an 803 cc
L-Twin cylinder, air cooled motor whose output is 87 hp @ 8250rpm
and 58lb-ft of torque at 6250 rpm. The 2012 model implemented a new
crandshaft assembly wich uses a lightweight 848-type flywheel and
has a longer stroke than its 696 sibling. The Ducati Monster 796 is
built on a strong, but lightweight tubular steel Trellis frame with
an aluminum rear sub-frame. The 43mm Marzocchi upside down
stanchion fork provides 120mm of wheel travel. The sleekish 5 spoke
design wheels are fitted with front 120/70ZR and rear 180/55ZR
tires.
The one owner 2012 Ducati Monster 796 ABS offered here was
purchased new at long time, grass roots Ducati dealer, Life Cycle
of Kalamazoo, MI. The bike has been enjoyed and meticulously cared
for, for 3082 miles. At the time of purchase, Scarichi Performance
exhaust by Termignoni was installed and the bike was fine tuned to
achieve peak performance. This 796 is also outfitted with ABS
technology, huge when it comes to safety and crash prevention.
Other tasteful accessories include aluminum Rizoma grips and
mirrors, faring delete, oil cooler guard, and a Ducati Performance
wheel stand. After each ride, the bike was immediately fully
detailed and set back in its wheel stand for display. Today, this
2012 796 ABS appears as new and demonstrates the stewardship on
ownership the bike has received. It has never been dumped, laid
down, tipped over or bumped, in fact, it has been looked after like
a fine piece of art.
