If you're in the market for something fun that's guaranteed to hold its value for a very long time, it's hard to go wrong with a vintage Corvette. America's favorite sports car is finally commanding the respect it deserves. And with awesome classics like this Top Flight Sting Ray mixing clean restorations with red carpet curb appeal, it's not hard to see why. A perfect blend of vintage virtues and everyday drivability, this handsome C2 is a head-turning exercise in old school charm and motor city swagger. And if you're looking for that rare trifecta of 'low maintenance', 'fun to own' and 'great investment potential', it's the fully documented cruiser you've been patiently waiting for!

BODY/INTERIOR

The beneficiary of a recent, body-off restoration http://s1124.photobucket.com/user/prestigemotorcar/slideshow/1965%20Corvette%20Convertible%20-%20Glenn%20Green that was completed by Prestige Motor Car Co. of Clifton Park, New York, this sweet C2 presents sophisticated aesthetics that are built on correct Glen Green pigment. That pigment, founded in quality DuPont ChromaPremier 2-stage, shades smooth fiberglass that highlights tight panel fitment. Those panels reveal a correct Saddle interior that features correct leather surfacing and a familiar Delco AM/FM radio. And overall, this classic's finish is so impressive that the car claimed NCRS Top Flight honors in both 2013 and 2014!

DRIVETRAIN

Tilt this Corvette's hood and you'll find an original L76 V8 that hangs a familiar 3782870 casting number behind a matching 113108 partial VIN and correct "HL" suffix stamp. One of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8s of its day, this impressive small block utilizes a hot cam, solid lifters, forged internals and transistorized ignition to turn stout 11.0 to 1 compression into a solid 365 horsepower. That power flows through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a correct 3851325 casting number, a Muncie (P) assembled on March (03) 11th (11), 1965 build code and a matching 113108 partial VIN in front of a correctly stamped differential. At the ends of the car, a fully sorted double A-arm front and independent rear suspension is completely detailed down to its fresh shocks, correct springs and traditional manual steering. At the corners of those bones, requisite disc brakes mix good handling characteristics with quick and solid stops. At the edges of those brakes, alloy Knock-Offs spin 205/75R15 Firestone FR380 goldlines. And the cam beats rhythm through aluminized exhaust pipes and factory replacement mufflers.
