1959 Chevrolet 3100 Apache Fleetside 4x4 Pickup Same owner for the
last 13 years - since 2004 Rebuilt original NAPCO four-wheel
drivetrain with approximately 4,000 miles on it Final year for
factory-ordered NAPCO conversions Bombay Ivory (code 701) over
Tartan Turquoise (code 710) exterior and interior Wraparound rear
window 283 CID V-8 engine Four-speed manual transmission New heater
core Original wheels New 33" mud tires Original AM radio This is
one beautiful truck! MotoeXotica Classic Cars is very pleased to
offer this 1959 Chevrolet 3100 Apache Fleetside NAPCO
four-wheel-drive pickup. That has been lovingly cared for by same
owner over the last 13 years. This was the 2,690th unit to come
down the Janesville, Wisconsin assembly line complete with V8
powerplant. Dressed in Bombay Ivory (code 701) over Tartan
Turquoise (code 710), this truck's paint and trim are in excellent
condition. Similarly, the glass panels, including the large and
desirable wraparound rear window, are also in great shape, as are
the truck's lights. This Apache has its original white and
turquoise wheels, mounted within new off-road/snow tires, size
7.00-15LT. The tires and wheels look fine and the truck's body
panels are straight and solid. Even the cargo bed is in overall
very good order, with a wood and metal strip floor. The bed's inner
walls and wheel wells show evidence of some minor blemishes. The
engine bay is very tidy, the battery looks newer and the bumpers
shine brilliantly. In that engine bay rests a desirable 283 CID V-8
engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. There's also a
new heater core. Open the doors and a matching ivory and turquoise
interior greets you. The ivory bench seat is in very good order,
while the contrasting carpet is in good shape. The black headliner
with its turquoise trim looks great. The ivory instrument panel is
very good order. The inner door panels in ivory and turquoise
complement the truck's exterior .The aftermarket, three-spoke
steering wheel is in good shape and there're aftermarket tachometer
on the steering column and ancillary gauges mounted beneath the
dashboard. The mirror glass and the shift lever are in fine shape.
There's a NAPCO Powr-Pak guide plate affixed to the glovebox door.
Completing the interior is a factory AM radio. There were minimal
changes from 1958, the most apparent was a larger and more ornate
hood emblem and redesigned badging on the fenders. The last year
that theNAPCO(Northwestern Auto Parts Company)
"Powr-Pak"four-wheel-driveconversion could be factory ordered.
NAPCO (Northwestern Auto Parts Company) was a four-wheel drive
automobile parts manufacturing company founded in 1918 and based in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. From 1956 to 1959, NAPCO's Powr-Pak option
could be ordered directly from GM (Regular Production Option 690 in
1957) and factory-installed on trucks with very few chassis
modifications. Before 1955, NAPCO Powr-Paks were found 3/4-ton and
one-tone models. The pre-1955 ton chassis used an incompatible
"torque tube" drive. In the fall of 1954, GMC and Chevrolet changed
the 1955 -ton pickup and Suburban models to the compatible
Hotchkiss drive. The 1955 4x4 NAPCO GMC or Chevrolet cost $1,250 to
$1,550 additional. By 1957, the Chevrolet and GMC 3100 4x4 models
cost $2,549, a bargain compared to earlier add-on kits. In 1960,
NAPCO and GM parted company after GM redesigned the front
suspension on their pickup trucks, so it was not as easily
compatible with the existing Powr-Pak kits. Today, these trucks are
still considered to be very versatile and durable and are
considered collectible by NAPCO enthusiasts. Competitors to this
Chevrolet in 1959 included GMC's Blue Chip pickups, Ford's
F-Series, Dodge's C-Series and International-Harvester's B-series
pickups. This truck is currently located at our facility in St.
Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 722 miles,
most likely since this awesome truck was restored. It is sold as
is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT
