Indianapolis showroom. This '64 Pontiac GTO is powered by a 389
Cubic inch tri-power V8 engine backed by a 4 Speed manual
transmission. Options on this 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible include:
AM Radio, Convertible Top (Auto), Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and
Radial Tires. In 1964 Pontiac made available the GTO package to
their Tempest model. The 1964 GTO was the only year where the dual
headlamps were side by side. It was changed into the popular
stacked headlights in 1965. Pontiac marketed the GTO as, "Not
everyone's cup of Tea." It was not made for the masses as it was
intended to be, "A piece of performance machinery." It most
certainly is. This GTO package has the optional 389 cubic inch V8
engine with the tri-power. The 3 carburetors 2-barrel system gave
this GTO an additional 23 horsepower over the standard single
carburetor 4-barrel. The GTO suspension came with heavy duty
springs, shocks and a stabilizer bar making spirted drives
possible. This 1964 Pontiac GTO convertible has been registered and
documentation from the Pontiac Historical Services. It comes with
the build sheet and option codes. This GTO was a frame off
restoration and brought back to its original glory. The GTO comes
with a 4-speed manual transmission outfitted with a Hurst Shifter.
The gray exterior is complemented well with the eye popping red
