Low miles 1992 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible
For sale, my much cherished 1992 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible. It is a 1992 facelift model.
1991 would see the final major cosmetic update to the XJS with what is known as the facelift model launched as a 1992 model. Outside, the slightly softer lines were only the tip of the iceberg as the body shell was now built from far fewer panels than the earlier version with additional rust proofing treatment. Inside, the instrument panel was all new, losing the drum styled engine gauges replaced by conventional dials flanking the two primary instruments, identical to the XJ40 panel. Extra veneer in the instrument cluster added a touch of luxury along with a new steering wheel and center console. V12 car received the same power bulge on the bonnet as the AJ6 models and US market XJS were now equipped with one piece Euro style Carello headlights.
I think it is the best looking of the class, great look and lines.
My wife bought this care for my 50th birthday back in 2010, but now it is time to reluctantly part with it. I am the second owner. The previous owner lived in Florida, so it has never seen snow.
I have never driven it in the wet, or even on wet roads. I take it for a run every two weeks to make sure that everything is good.
Genuine 52k miles, clean Carfax shows no accidents, and that the mileage is correct.
Bodywork and chrome are excellent with no rust at all.
Very smooth motor, lots of torque from the 5.3 liter V12. Can be a daily driver, or tidied up as a show car. The convertible roof is original and has a small tear near the back. Everything is original, including the CAT converters which can be removed if you want more power, as it does not need to pass emissions inspection as it is 25 years old.
This vehicle cost $65,500 when new in 1992.
Just passed NC inspection and is up to date with servicing. All work done at the local main Jaguar dealer. They have a mechanic experienced with the marque and the V12 motor.
Lots of parts replaced in the last 7 years. I have all the receipts, and all mechanical work that needed to be done has been done with genuine, new Jaguar parts.
Over $9,000 spent on the mechanical and electrical work. No overheating problems.
