Cars may be able to help. We are happy to offer this 1959 Nash
Metropolitan Convertible. These cars are super cute and gather tons
of attention and smiles wherever they stop or park and this one is
finished in ones of the Metro's most desirable colors, pink! Its
pink over Frost White exterior is in overall good condition but
there is a blemish on the right front fender. The windshield is in
similar good shape, clear and crack-free. This small car's lights
are in similar good stead. According to its VIN, this particular
car was made in February 1959. January 1959 saw the start of
Metropolitan Series IV (NK4) production. This major redesign saw
the addition of an externaldecklid(previous models only allowed
access to thetrunkthrough the rear seat back) andvent windows.
By this time, the 1.5L engine had been upgraded by increasing
thecompression ratiofrom 7.2:1 to 8.3:1, giving an output of
55horsepower. The additional features added 15pounds to the
weight. Exterior color options were the same as for Series III. The
interior now used a diamond pattern for the seats, with white vinyl
trim. The MSRP for Series IV models was $1,672.60 (Hardtop) and
$1,696.80 (Convertible). It rolls on tires with factory wheel
covers with pink beauty rings. All of the car's body panels are
straight and solid, its engine bay is very tidy and the bumpers are
in very good order. Note: that the speedometer and odometer are
inoperable. Its white folding top is in overall good shape but
shows some minor blemishes. Inside, the white bench seat is in very
good shape, the black floor mats are in good condition, as is the
black metal instrument panel. The original, two-spoke steering
wheel faces the driver. The Metropolitan marked the first time an
American-designed car was exclusively marketed in North America yet
built entirely in Europe by the Austin Motor Company in England.
The Metropolitan was also one of the first cars intentionally
marketed toward American women. Micro cars have etched out their
own niche in the classic car community and the Metropolitan is the
American original. Excellent examples like this '59 Metropolitan
have become highly collectible and values keep rising due to their
staying power and never-ending cuteness with all generations!
Competition to this Nash in 1959 included Volkswagen's Beetle. This
car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri.
Current mileage on the odometer shows 23,604 miles since the gauges
were tested and reset. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and
clear, exempt mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! VIN: E59393 Note:
