Custom built 1940 Chevy Pro Street, Street Rod and Hot Rod
This 1940 Chevy has over 1800 man hours constructing this build,
completing the frame was about 200 man hours all the welds are
ground smooth, plus over $68,000. in parts. To build this Chevy
today would cost well over $130,000. Every part on the car is
painted including the underside of the fenders, inside of the door
panels, and every part of the under carriage. The grill is polished
stainless.
The Chevy has a custom frame that is polished and painted with all
Heidts coil overs both front and rear, and also an adjustable 4
link rear suspension with Heidts chrome upper and lower A arms on
the front. The car also has a Heidts power rack and pinion steering
that is painted to match the car.
The differential is a Strange custom built that is polished and
painted to match the car.
The engine is a Merlin 540 block that was custom built by a racing
engine shop with Dart Hard core Pro one heads that are polished, a
complete Comp Cams roller system, a Demon carb with a Dart polished
intake, MSD Digital-6 Plus, Oliver rods, Comp Cams belt drive,
Moroso Vacuum pump 8 quart oil system, custom oil pan with an
external oil filter and the list go on, plus Dino sheets on the
engine and the builder of the Merlin 540.
The transmission is a turbo 400 with custom oil pan that was built
to take 2000 HP with a 3500 stall converter with a Cheetah shifter,
the drive shaft is a custom built and is polished.
The exhaust is a stainless 4 1/2 inch Gibson with Borla stainless 4
inch mufflers special built stainless headers.
Wilwood Disc brakes that are polished both front and rear with an
Electric Vacuum pump for better stopping power.
Every line on the car is braided stainless steel and every nut and
bolt is stainless, brake lines are stainless, fuel lines all oil
lines, and all the Nitrous lines it has a trans cooler, oil cooler,
and custom built radiator with 2 cooling fans on a very hot day the
car runs at 170 to 180 degrees.
The interior is custom built a tilt flaming river steering column,
with all Auto meter gauges set in a custom made dash, power windows
with billet door handles, custom JVC stereo with Amp, power wipers,
the interior done in grey tweed with custom door panels, head liner
and the front and rear seats, all the wiring is Painless with
Dedenbear relays.
I also have a complete book with pictures showing the building of
the car and a booklet with the parts that went into the building of
the Chevy, also the name of the racing engine shop and the builder
of the 1940 Chevy with documentation.
The rims are Weld racing.
The car even on the hot days runs about 175 to 180 and it has 2
Spal cooling fans.
Polished fuel cell with Magna Flow electric fuel pumps with 2
filters Heidt Power rack and pinion steering, Flaming River
steering column with tilt.
Front turn signal lights and rear tail lights are molded into body
and are LED.
The car is only used for cars shows and I have won many best of
shows and the car has never been in the rain, always stored in a
garage. Street legal and ready to drive and show.
