Vehicle Description
Worldwide Vintage Autos is pleased to present this restored 1981
Toyota Hilux 4x4 Short Bed Truck. These early Toyotas are hot. This
collector grade example will NOT last long. Clean Autocheck with no
accidents, odometer issues, etc. (See photos). "The forward looking
collector will note that classic pickup trucks are just getting
started - and there are plenty of underpublicized specimens out
there" Autoweek Magazine February 2016. We scour the country for
vintage cars and trucks and we rarely come across one like this!
You must see and drive this rare Toyota!
HISTORY
In 1981 a vehicle development agreement was established between
Toyota,Winnebago Industriesand two other aftermarket customizers.
This was to allow Toyota to enter theSUVmarket in North America.
The vehicles which resulted from this collaboration were the
Trekker (Winnebago), Wolverine, and the Trailblazer (Griffith). All
three used the Hilux 44 RV cab and chassis, and an
all-fiberglassrear section (the Trailblazer had a steel bed with a
fiberglass top). There were at least 1,500 Trekkers, 400
Trailblazers and an unknown number of Wolverines sold in North
America. Research and development work on the Trekker led to the
development of the4Runner/Hilux Surf, which was released in 1984.

Own this vintage Toyota at a fraction of the build cost. The cost
of parts and restoration of these vehicles are increasing daily.
They are not making any more and, therefore, they are becoming more
rare by the day. Buy one complete and ensure your investment for
the future. An excellent investment and something you can enjoy
daily. Collectible vintage vehicles have historically appreciated
at a rate greater than that stock market, gold and other arts and
collectibles as documented by many articles and auction result
tracking.
