Power comes from a 6.2L V8 engine mated to a 4-speed Hydramatic transmission. Options include air conditioning, front fender wing & door styling strips, rear picnic tray tables, power windows, power steering, power brakes, whitewall tires, Flying B hood mascot, stainless steel exhaust, front fog lamps, decorative badge bar, updated CD audio system, and more! This uniquely special RHD drive example sold new on April 21, 1964 from Jack Barclay Limited located in Berkeley Square, London, England to General Electric Co, LTD to be used by Lord Aldington. It would trade hands in the summer of 1975 to United Stated automobile investor, Merrill Benfield of Charleston, SC. He would make the trip to London and purchase Rolls Royce and Bentley vehicles to export them back to the States. Included with this car would be the shipping tags from Swansombe Auto-Exports when it arrived through Florida. It would make its way to Yellow Rolls Royce, LTD to be sold in October 1975 to Fritts Biesecker of Charlotte, NC who would hold on to his English treasure for the next 36 years! While under his ownership, he selected Jenkins & Jenkins to service and maintain this S3, before employee Jarod Brown would open his own firm called Automotive International in 2001. He would be selected to perform a body-on restoration in the spring of 2002. It would be completely stripped of all exterior components, with the body down to bare metal. It would fully re-sprayed in the factory color, receive new front leathers, dash leather, new headliner, fully re-plated exterior chrome, fresh weather stripping, and more. Completed in October of 2003, the results continue to impress. New ownership came about in October of 2011 and it would be freshened once again. This included fully refinished interior wood by NS Wood Refinishing, new radiator, rebuilt brake servo & master cylinders, fully rebuilt steering system, fresh transmission gasket, triangle gasket, & valve cover gaskets, new alternator (disguised as a generator), resealed front shocks, replaced oil sending unit, fresh fluids throughout, and LED dash and dome light illumination! All of this was done under the care of St. Louis Rolls Royce specialist Erwin Schwarz, LTD at just shy of 88,000 actual miles. It has been shown and rewarded amongst its peers at many RROC and Bentley class events. These include 2007 Euro Auto Festival- 1st Place Bentley Class, 2008 Rebel Reunion- 1st Place Bentley Touring, 2010 Euro Auto Festival- Crowd Pleaser Award, 2012 RROC Nationals Louisville, KY- 2nd Place (390/400pts), and 2013 RROC Nationals San Antonio Fiesta- 1st Place (388/400pts).
