GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1984 Jeep CJ7 for your
consideration. It is no secret that we love unique vehicles and
search them out. This CJ certainly fits the bill. It has been
modified to run off of propane. Why propane you might ask? There
are many advantages to using propane verses "normal" fuel. Propane
does not 'go bad' like our gasoline today that has a relatively
short shelf life. Propane burns clean, cheaper than gasoline,
prolongs engine life, propane is not harmful to soil or water,
dramatically extends spark plug life, you cannot "flood" a propane
engine, time between oil changes is much longer, and much more. One
of the more important reasons that pertain to extreme off-roading
is the fact that propane carburation automatically compensates for
altitude changes, saving carburetor re-jetting or computer
re-learn. Propane is under pressure which eliminates the need for a
fuel pump, float bowl, or needle and seat. Propane also has a high
octane rating, somewhere between 100 and 110.
This CJ7 can be daily driven or put to test by running the Rubicon
off road 4-wheeling challenge. This jeep has had a frame off
restoration. While the odometer reads 168,176 miles, there is under
400 miles on this fresh build. It has an ARB air Locker. This
allows by just the push of the button to be able to choose between
conventionally locked or fully locked differential. It can be
fitted to run the front or the rear differential. This Jeep has had
the front and rear brakes converted to disc brakes. Heavy duty
front and rear sway bars have been added as well. The Dana 30 has
4:56 ring and pinion gears. There is a receipt for $1,200 for this.
The small block chevy v8 received a new S/S crank kit, connecting
rods, main bearings, pistons, moly rings, rod bearings, oil pump,
Comp camshaft, hydraulic lifters. Parts were ordered out of
Performance Automotive Warehouse in California. V8 propane kit was
ordered from GotPropane. The engine runs as it should and sounds
good. It is mated to an automatic transmission. Highlights include
chrome air cleaner, Summit aluminum intake, Jegs 'Pro Starter'
starter, Optima battery, aluminum radiator, painless wiring,
magnaflow dual exhaust and a new alternator. This Jeep has a
fiberglass tub and looks great. It is equipped with Warn locking
hubs. The Jeep sits on 35x12.6xR17 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires
mounted on aluminum wheels with bead lockers. There is a full
Besttop soft top and soft doors. The Jeep also has a full roll
cage, rear mounted spare, Tenzo Racing sports seats. Whether you
are looking for a daily driver of an off-roading machine, this Jeep
is the answer!
