Vehicle Description
Stk. 2242 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351
The Boss 351 Mustang represents the close of the classic muscle car
era. Being that 1971 was the last year of the Boss Mustang,
production numbers were relatively low (1,806). The Boss 351
designation was in reference to the 351HO engine. This '71 Boss 351
is one of the nicest you will find, an AACA Senior recipient. The
owner has provided the MartiWorks Standard Report with build
information compiled from the Ford Database. A beautiful two-stage
Red finish (originally Yellow) is in excellent condition and is
accented with Matte Black hood, stripping and spoiler. The black
vinyl interior is original except for the seats and is also in very
good condition. Our Mustang is equipped with AM radio, factory
tachometer/gauge package, Hurst shifter, power steering, upgraded
suspension components and power disc/drum brakes. The Boss engine
is the R-Code 351 Cleveland - a rare powerplant, truly under-rated
at 330bhp. We have no reason to believe that this is not the
original motor. Factory upgrades on the R-Code include: 11.7:1
compression, 4-bolt mains, Brinell crank, forged pistons, aluminum
intake, 4-V Autolite carb, closed chamber heads, solid lifters and
dual point distributor. It breathes through a functional hood with
Ram-Air scoops. Cooling is provided by an HD radiator and flex fan.
The wide ratio 4-speed feeds a Traction-Lok differential with
3.91:1 gears. Factory Magnum 500 wheels mount F60-15" Goodyear
Polyglas GT bias tires in good condition. The current owner of this
"Boss Hoss' has been the curator of this handsome car for the past
6 years and is ready to pass it on to the next caretaker - why not
you? Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at
