Vehicle Description
This beautiful two-owner restored Thunderbird convertible is
powered by a 292ci engine paired to an automatic transmission and
power brakes. It's equipped with both a soft- and upgraded
port-hole hardtop. It was originally delivered through Wiegard
Sales in Chippewa Falls, WI. The engine still retains the
factory-installed engine block heater. The car was passed down in
the early '80s to a son-in-law residing in Virginia. There the car
had a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration. After the
restoration the car went through a long period of storage. In
2015-16 the car was sorted and updates were made, such as
restoration of the original carburetor, conversion to a 12-volt
system using authentic components, restored clock, restored seat
motors and conversion of radio to FM. The car is mechanically sound
and runs reliably. This gorgeous red-on-red convertible is an
excellent example of the 1955 Thunderbird.
