A Rare (Only 300 Made) Muscle Car:
2000 Mustang SVT Cobra R
JUST REDUCED FOR FALL DRIVING SEASON
This elite group of Mustangs—only 300 in number—constituted Ford’s muscle cars for the year 2000. All 300 were painted Red with few options available, these cars have become collector cars for enthusiasts; ours is a very low-mileage car:

An Exceptional Example!
No choice here: they were all Performance Red. The factory finish on this Mustang is unblemished except for the hood which has bubbles showing, probably from bad prep at the factory.
The upholstery is charcoal fabric on Recaro bucket racing-style seats. These were all 2-passenger vehicles designed for both street and track use.
The engine is the 5.4 liter V-8 that was rated at 385 hp, hand-built at the factory. The engine, like the rest of the car, is virtually brand-new. These engines weren’t just go-fast motors, they were designed to withstand the demands that are part of road or drag racing.
The transmission used was the Tremec T-56 6-speed with close gears. Despite the close gear ratios, the Cobra R could reach a top speed of 177 mph. The rear end is a 3:55 with a Gerodisc hydro-mechanical differential.
The brakes are all disc, with the front wheels equipped with 4-piston Brembo calipers on 13-inch rotors.
These cars were equipped with a Borla dual side-exiting exhaust system that is unique.

These Rs aren’t your run-of-the-mill Mustangs or, for that matter, they aren’t run-of-the-mill Cobras. Rather these are extremely high-performance cars that are street legal and track ready. Apart from the collector value, these cars are just plain fun to drive and chances are that few people that you encounter have ever seen one.
