Peerless model 56, 4 door, all original unrestored. The beauty
of this car is that it is exactly as the manufacturer intended. 100
year old unrestored automobiles are hard to find. They are only
original once. No rust with solid sheet metal. Nice original paint.
The almost 100 year old interior is all original with one 2 inch
diameter hole in the rear seat. Door panels and headliner are in
beautiful original condition. This is a big and impressive sedan
that carries a formal and sophisticated 1920's style. It has a
windshield that opens, wood spoke wheels, Moto-meter, wood-rimmed
steering wheel and a single driver’s side spotlight and
bucket-style headlights. The original V8 Motor produces 80 HP and
starts and runs beautifully and is very quiet. The car has been in
a museum for over 50 years and has been well maintained. The car
drives great. Mechanically sound. The three speed manual
transmission performs flawlessly. All gages and lights work.
After we bought this car, we noticed a leak in the radiator. We
purchased from a company in the UK, a custom made honeycomb
original style radiator that matched the original design. There are
no manufacturers that make this style radiator in the US. All hoses
were replaced and the cooling system performs perfectly.
We also dropped and cleaned the fuel tank, fuel system, vacuum
canister and rebuilt the carburetor.
This car needs nothing but a new owner that appreciates original
100 year old cars.
This museum quality automobile will not only be fun and a beauty to
own but will be a great investment. How often do you see a drivable
museum quality car? I do not think that there is another unrestored
Peerless in the country.
