The F250 was the last year of the sixth generation F series truck .
The success of the F series had carried on more than three decades
at this point and still lives on today. The 1979 model changed the
circle headlights to square headlights but the rest of the truck
was the same. The 1978 and 1979 models had a single piece insert
for the grille unlike all other prior models . In 1979 the F series
truck became the bestselling vehicle in the world, this was also
the first time that ford motor company introduced the slogan "
built ford tough." The F-250 came in Custom, Ranger, Ranger XLT and
Ranger Lariat trim choices, with Custom being the base level and
Lariat the most luxurious. The crew cab versions were only
available in Custom and Ranger XLT trim. The Custom came with vinyl
seat upholstery, the Ranger offered knit vinyl, floor covering and
color-coordinated trim panels, the Ranger XLT came with
cloth-trimmed upholstery, extra insulation and carpeting and the
Ranger Lariat provided padded cloth seating, padded headliner,
extra insulation and special color options.
We are pleased to offer this highly original 1979 Ford F250 XLT
Ranger Lariat Supercab. The truck features the desirable 400 V8, C6
automatic transmission, Dana 60 rear end and Dana 44 Front.
Features include power steering power brakes, sliding rear window,
XLT trim, floor shift transfer case, front and rear bench seats,
tow package, upgraded stereo and chrome step rear bumper. With the
exception on one repaint in its factory colors, newer seat covers
and carpet, the truck remains highly original including original
frame and underside and stock original engine compartment. This
truck runs great, the 4X4 engages properly and offers many uses for
its next owner.
The classis truck market is red hot right now and Classic Fords are
