For Sale: 1977 GMC Jimmy in Cincinnati, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Exterior

The white exterior is in great driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has nice gloss and good shine. The chrome and other bright work shows well overall for a driver. The aluminum wheels look great on the truck with a nice finish and no curb rash. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are a number of blemishes visible in the photos like the spot by the left headlight and the area near the right rear wheel with some bubbles. Also a few blemishes around truck that were too tiny to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As with many Jimmy's and Blazers from this era the drivers door is a bit hard to shut. The truck will need a set of tires in the near future. We have included many photos of the underside of the truck to show how nice it looks. There are also specific photos of the rockers, lower quarter panels, and the areas most prone to rust.

Interior

The Red interior in the Jimmy is in good condition. The front seats are in very nice shape and look just as good in person just as they do in the photos with no rips, split seams, or excessive wear. The rear seats do show some wear as one can see in the photos. The carpet is in nice condition as well with no holes. An aftermarket Sony radio with CD player was installed on the floor in front of the transfer case shifter. The Sony radio works and most importantly the dash has never been cut for an aftermarket installation. The dash is in good shape with no fading or sun damage, there is on small crack visible in the photos. This Jimmy has no aroma of cigarettes at all.

Mechanical

This GMC seems to be in good mechanical condition. It starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. It is a nice driver that feels good the road. In the video below one can observe the truck accelerating on the highway up to about 60mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that the truck performs quite well overall. The transmission shifts well and the transfer case goes into Low-Range, Low-Range Lock, Neutral, High-Range, and High-Range Lock. This GMC has plenty of power with the 350 V8. The horn works as do all the indicators, wipers, and exterior lights. The blower motor for the a/c and heater works on all speeds. All of the gauges work. The speedometer and odometer work, but the speedo reads a bit low. The a/c does not work, the system is complete and the a/c compressor spins, so the system probably needs some Freon added. Not enough can be said as to how much fun it is to drive this truck, especially with top off on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1977 GMC K5 Jimmy is in very good condition. The classic 4x4 market is very hot right now and on the prices of the classic full size Blazers and Jimmy's has increase drastically over the past years. The GMC Jimmy is more much more rare than the Chevrolet Blazer. This Jimmy always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
