For Sale: 1997 Porsche 993 in Orange County, California

Vehicle Description

1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S

This stunning example is one of only 182 Turbo S models produced for the U.S. Introduced in 1997 and only produced for a two-year run, the Turbo S was a huge upgrade in both performance and styling, not to mention price. The designated type "993" were the last of the air-cooled Porsches produced. and the Turbo S model was also one of the last hand built air cooled examples by the Porsche Exclusive Department.

The Turbo S's performance is still impressive today. The 0-100 time of just 8.9 seconds! 0-62mph is crazy fast and a top speed near 200 mph. Not bad for a flat six.

The flat six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine is paired with a set of K-24 turbochargers that make 430 hp U.S. spec. Power is put to the ground through a six-speed manual transaxle all-wheel-drive system. Porsche altered the Bosch Motronic engine-management system to produce more power than the standard turbo. Porsche also added an additional oil cooler to handle the increased heat load. 12.68-inch power-assisted ventilated and cross-drilled multi-piston disc brakes with, in this case, matching speed yellow calipers that deliver impressive stopping power from any speed.

This incredibly rare car is identifiable by its numerous unique features throughout. The front fog lights were removed and replaced with air ducts to aid front brake cooling. The exhaust system was replaced with a modified unit that has quadruple rear tips. The flared rear fenders have large air inlets and the rear deck features the "Aerokit II" biplane spoiler to increase downforce.

Unlike some other special edition models, Porsche did not sacrifice creature comforts and usability for track performance with the Turbo S. Inside is luxurious full leather interior, including head liner and seat backs, down to leather wrapped window controls. It also has a heavy dose of carbon fiber trim on the lower dash, the door panels and center console.

The Turbo S, is thought to be by many, the best Porsche, Porsche ever built. When you add, the timeless styling, the performance, and rarity of this example. I think it is easy to see why this car will be highly sought after for years to come.

This stunning example is in pristine, original paint, never damaged condition. People who are not familiar with Porsche cannot believe it is a twenty-year-old car. Those who are, say it is one of, if not the cleanest examples they have ever seen. Everything except the tires, battery, oil and gas are original! Oops, I also did have the gas springs on the front bonnet and rear deck just replaced and car serviced.

I am the second owner and acquired the car in 2000 with just 3k miles. I am passionate about my cars and take pride in keeping them properly serviced and maintained. This may not be a museum piece, but it shows and runs as new and it won't have bad seals, bad rubber, bad gas etc.

This is a true to factory specification all original low-mile Southern California Turbo S and is ready for many more years of enjoyment. The Ultimate air-cooled Turbo 911 model.

I am sure there are features I forgot to mention, feel free to contact me with any questions. Serious Buyers only. May consider cash and trade for the right car.
