There is something very “American” about the pickup trucks made by Ford in the late 1960s. Dispensing with many of today’s “frills,” their rugged and practical design had an honest simplicity that continues to attract to this day.
This beautiful 1968 Ford F-100 Ranger fleetside pickup truck is finished in an attractive two-tone color combination of Turquoise and White, which has a nice luster. You’ll also appreciate the tasteful use of chrome and brightwork that this more upscale Ranger affords, including special bright-metal side trim and rocker and wheel lip moldings. Also a part of the Ranger package is a convenient cargo area light. Full wheel covers add additional pop to this beautiful truck.
The interior is equally handsome, and features a more recently upholstered bench seat in black cloth. The dash board, carpeting, and interior door panels are all in very good condition. You’ll also appreciate the addition of a more modern radio, but the original will also be provided to the next owner of this truck.
Under the hood you’ll find an optional 360 CID V-8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission. The neatly presented engine compartment features chrome plated valve covers, giving it just the right amount of spark. The original valve covers will also be included with sale, as will two spare hubcaps, an instrument cluster bezel, and miscellaneous catalogs and guides relating to the truck.
This F-100 was traded in at the local Harley-Davidson dealer for a new motorcycle. The odometer shows just 64,600 miles, which is reflected on the clear Ohio title as actual mileage. Although total mileage is unknown, this pickup runs and drives as well as it looks.
One item of note is that minor imperfections chrome and brightwork do not detract from the overall appearance of this truck.
