MotoeXotica Classic Cars presents a 1982 Checker A12E Marathon
Limousine. One of 13 limousines Checker built at its Kalamazoo,
Michigan factory in February 1982, its final production year, this
car was made for the high-end professional car market. This example
was repainted in 2013 and its paint and trim are in very good
overall shape. Other recent revamps include the full vinyl roof,
hood, new rocker and quarter panels. The glass panels are clear and
crack-free, as are the car's lights. The car rolls on 225/75R15
radials at all four corners, surrounding factory wheel covers. The
car's body panels are straight and solid, the bumpers are in good
shape and the engine and cargo bays are fairly tidy. Under the hood
is GM's 267 CID V-8, hooked to a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed
automatic transmission with 2.72 gearing. Driver convenience
features include dual Frostemp air-conditioning, cruise control,
power steering and power brakes with front discs. In 2013, the car
received a radiator, an electric radiator fan, exhaust system,
power front disc brakes, tires and cruise control. Last year, the
car received new rear brakes. Inside, the car's black vinyl and
velour interior is overall good condition. The front bench seat
shows some blemishes. Behind that, there is a fold-down, full width
second row jump seats and a third-row bench seat that are in a
similar state to the front seat. The matching black carpet is in
good condition. The black headliner and instrument panel are in
good order. The steering wheel, gear shifter and tilt column are
lifted from an early 80s GM vehicle, perhaps a Chevrolet Monte
Carlo. The mirror glass and shifter look good and finishing out the
interior is a Pioneer AM/FM stereo with CD player. Documentation
includes original Checker Motor Corporation build sheet. This car
is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri.
Current mileage on the odometer shows 60,363 miles since the gauges
were tested and reset. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and
clear, exempt mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! VIN:
