For Sale: 1952 Hudson Hornet in Livermore, California

Vehicle Description

This car is a gem. and a steal at this price. Have to sell her, moving.

It's a Very Rare HHH: Hudson Hollywood Hornet. Jay Leno states that 1951-1954 HUDSON HORNET HOLLYWOOD COUPES are one of the top ten most collectible American cars of the post war era. Several of the well restored Club Coupe versions have sold for more than $75,000 and convertible versions go over $150,000. This car is a beautiful survivor. Only 2160 Hollywood coupes were made, there are not too many of these great cars still in existence.

Hudson dominated NASCAR stock car racing in the 50's, especially in 1952 winning 40 of 48 races. Monobilt cars were a major advance with their low slung "low center of gravity" step down design. Hudson's were a foot lower than most competitors, keeping the same interior room, improving aerodynamics, cornering and safety with a more balanced chasis on the now widely adopted unit-body (unibody) construction. This car could be the ultimate autocross star with a little motor and drivetrain work. Car does not run today.

The original motor is bored out 5.0 litre L-head straight six cylinder (308 cid) that produced a whopping 145 horsepower in its heyday, but this motor could be easily tuned to well over 200 horsepower. This car was also equipped with a dual carburetor system that improved performance and reliability called TWIN-H-POWER allowing the power to compete against the GM V8s. All parts are with the car for restoration of the drivetrain.
