The Nissan President was a Japanese luxury limousine produced from
1965 to 2010, representing the company's flagship vehicle.
Exclusive to Japan, it was specifically targeted for Japanese
dignitaries and CEOs. It was built with high-quality and luxurious
amenities, tailored to Japanese tastes, to compete with the likes
of Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley. The "Sovereign VIP" is
the top of the line model, fully equipped with the superbly smooth
4.4-liter V-8 engine. With a reported MSRP of approximately $50,000
in 1987, owning one was a luxury and honor reserved for only a
select few. It was the choice automobile for the Prime Minister of
Japan as well as other government officials.
This 1987 Nissan President Sovereign VIP is described by its owner
as an, "investment-grade, museum-quality automobile." The car shows
beautifully with its originality on full display. From the heated,
power reclining rear seating, to the motorized quarter windows,
this vehicle is equipped with a long list of unique features and
power amenities. One of the most impressive features is the back of
the passenger seat which folds down to allow the chauffeured "VIP"
to stretch their legs out onto the front seat. Between the rear
seats, passengers have access to audio and climate controls,
including a tape deck complete with headphone jacks for privacy,
and a factory remote control. Traditionally, the luxurious textiles
selected for this President are preferred by the Japanese over
leather seat coverings.
While the vehicle is being offered as mileage exempt, it has been
inspected and certified by JEVIC (Japan Export Vehicle Inspection
Center) to be actual kilometers. The original hardcopy JEVIC
certificate is supplied with the vehicle.
This 1987 Nissan President Sovereign VIP Limousine is truly a rare
find, especially in the United States. Its condition, as well as
its numerous amenities and luxury features make it a very desirable
vehicle. With the growing popularity of Japanese collector cars,
it's safe to say this would make a great addition to any
collection.
