For Sale: 1929 Ford Model A Woody Station Wagon in St. Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Just a truly gorgeous example! Super solid chassis and highly original birch & maple body structure, along with original Murray body tags! Nice options that include whitewall tires, spare tire cover, rearview mirror, and Sparton horn! The Ford Model A was, without any sort of deniability or doubt, the most popular American car during its time of production in the automobile era. By 1929, over one million had been built, and by 1930, that number screamed to three million units on the road! This was in part due to the fact that Henry Ford had production plants in 16 different cities! Making that fact more remarkable, 10 of those cities weren't even in the United States! He was producing vehicles on a huge global scale not to be unrecognized, even by today's standards! Offered in a variety of body styles, both in civilian and commercial options, it was difficult to imagination anything that wasn't available in Ford's selection. One of those units that met both public and commercial demand was the 7-passenger 150A station wagon. Created by Murray Coachworks using fine hardwoods consisting of maple & birch, hand-crafted bodies were produced with remarkable precision. It would be the first time any mass-produced station wagon would be produced by a single American automobile manufacturing assembly line. Only 4,954 Model 150A Station Wagons would be produced in 1929, making these units exceptionally special for so many reasons among astute Ford collectors, museums worldwide, and automobile enthusiasts in general! We couldn't be more excited to offer this 1929 Ford Model A 150A Station Wagon finished in classic Beige with Black fenders over beautiful Black vinyl upholstered interior! Featuring original Murray Body Number M250-6547, this exceptional Station Wagon is truly in remarkable condition throughout! Featuring an older restoration, it continues to showcase unbelievable wood structure and unique original features throughout. These include the original Coachworks by Murray' body plaque on the exterior wood body and Body Number plate mounted below the driver seat. Options include 201.5ci Inline 4 cylinder L-head engine with 3-speed manual transmission, side-mounted spare tire with Ford scripted vinyl cover, driver side exterior mirror, Firestone wide whitewall tires measuring 4.40/4.50-21", vacuum wiper, Sparton horn, Ford Twolite headlamps, chrome hubcaps, and more! Added accessories include modern hood holders and carburetor air filter. This exceptional example is truly an investment worthy investment! The steel chassis is rust free and the wood body is wonderfully tight and without any noticeable faults, near perfect upholstery from the front to back, and exhibits excellent running characteristics! It has recently been serviced to include fresh engine oil, spark plugs, spark plug connectors, and fresh battery! It displays only 8,940 miles on the odometer, but we do not have evidence to document it as actual. It was last registered and ownedby a New York Ford collector, but prior to his purchase two yearsago, was said to have beenrestored by a retired doctor who resides inIdaho. It possessesBabbitt engine bearings, original style Zenith carburetor, retains all three rows of seats, all side curtains, and side curtain storage box with original key! It isnow a rare offering to the market! Please feel free to call with questions, or schedule a chance to see it in person. We look forward to working with you!
