Very rare and super tough, the Nissan Patrol won the early battle for 4 x 4 dominance over 50 years ago. The 60 series Patrol earned its reputation as one of the world´s toughest 4 x 4´s by conquering the harshest conditions in Australia, Africa, and South America. It was the first 4x4 to cross the toughest part of Australia as well. This 1978 model is very rare because it was never offered in the USA (they were offered only in limited numbers from 1962 to 1969).
This LG60 Patrol is the best version, with a mid size body and a removable hard top. It has been very well kept, and is very original and features the professionally overhauled (crankshaft to carburator) original 6 cylinder 4.0 liter gas motor, original 3 speed transmission, original transfer case with separate low/high and 2wd/4wd options, locking hubs, removable hard top, and heavy duty solid axles with leaf springs. The upgrades include a 4¨lift with new shocks, new power steering, Maxxis 35¨ AT tires, wide aluminum wheels fender flares, custom bumpers, and a roof rack. The body has only been painted once, and it is in great shape with no rust. The frame is in excellent shape with no rust either. It has a split bench seat in front, fold down seats in the rear that accommodate up to 6 adults, four sets of adjustable air vents, and sliding rear side windows.
