1967 Mercedes Benz 250 SE Convertible in Los Angeles, California
1967 Mercedes 250SE Cabriolet US Model. Silver with Black leather
interior and Black canvas top. Auto, A/C, power steering and
brakes. 151,428 miles. Original engine (#003902). Purchased in 1973
by a Pacific Palisades CA couple who owned it for 30 years after
which they sold it to their neighbor who owned it for another 10.
Around 2013 it was bought by the owner of the service facility that
had worked on it for the last 32 +/- years - Pacific Motors on Pico
Blvd in Santa Monica. They did a sympathetic restoration, stripped
it for paint, removed the engine for access to engine bay and did a
total repaint in Silver. Suspension, brakes, etc. cleaned, repaired
or replaced. Mechanically the car is superb. Recent valve job and
A/C overhaul, etc. Runs superbly with a nice gear shift, excellent
brakes and steering. It has also had bumpers re-chromed, five new
Michelin tires fitted etc. New canvas soft top and wool roof liner,
new seats front and back, new door panels, sun visors and carpets,
wood refinished etc. Comes with its spare, jack and tools, handbook
and assorted service receipts. I would estimate the cost of the
work at around $55-70,000 but the challenge would be to find one
good enough to be the basis for the work. Hagerty Valuation
$53,000-$125,000
