1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance. 55,000 miles. All original. Vehicle has the rare 6 Liter V8 engine. I am the second owner. I purchased it from an estate sale where she had been garage kept/parked for over 25 years. I bought it and started the restoration process. Currently I don't have the time to finish nor the space in my garage. I need to part ways with my beloved Fleetwood. She's near complete, here's what all I've done:
The ignition had gone out and the previous owner passed away prior to repairing it. He had ordered the part, factory genuine from GM direct, I had it installed by a local shop shortly after acquiring it ($300 labor). She literally fired up immediately after. From there I added new Hancock whitewall tires ($400 tires) and a new battery ($125) then sent her to a local professional paint and body shop. They added all new fiber glass fillers for the front and reat bumpers ($300 fiberglass fillers). All the work was done professionally with the paint being perfectly matched ($1300 paint/labor). The fiber glass inserts will last a lifetime unlike the plastic fillers you find typically rotting away withing 15 years or so.
I then sent her to a local vinyl/leather specialist. I had the top completely redone and the inside headliner all redone. They did an incredible job. ($1000 total)
This is where I've left off with the car. I've spent a great deal of money and time into professional work. The car is in terrific shape for the year but it isn't flawless. She runs strong. Titled and registered. Sold As is. Needs minor repairs/TLC to be perfect. Perfect everyday driver!
