The most desirable year of classic Ford Broncos is 1977 and for good reason. 1977 Broncos featured the best array of creature comforts and mechanical upgrades of any early Bronco. This included all the new upgrades offered in 76 including standard factory front disc brakes, optional (almost always installed) power brakes and power steering. In 1977, Ford also changed the rear fuel tank from steel to polyurethane and upgraded the capacity by about 1.3 gallons (10%). The big bearing Ford 9″ rear housing was built with much beefier gussets for extra strength. Also, Ford installed fuel doors for the front and rear gas tanks to give the driver side quarter panel a more sleek look. Another worthy upgrade was a change to the Duraspark electronic ignition.
