For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very low mileage 1963 Ford
Galaxie 500 Sedan. This car was purchased new by an elderly couple
in Minnesota in 1963 and was lovingly cared for and driven
sparingly until time came to stop driving. This car was then stored
indoors for 30+ years until it was brought back out in the light of
day and became the roadworthy classic you see before you. The
original light cream colored paint has been re-sprayed to freshen
up the exterior while the original interior remains intact and in a
surprisingly preserved state with very little damage or wear
evident. After it's long slumber this comfortable sedan has been
treated to new rear springs, a new clutch, new U-joints, Petronix
ignition, remanufactured carburetor, new tires and 4 new shocks.
This car starts with a simple turn of the dash-mounted ignition and
is very quiet and smooth. At idle it is hard to tell that the car
is actually running. Shifting the classic "Three on the Tree" is
smooth and effortless and the brakes stop nicely even at highway
speeds. Under the hood you will find the original 223 Cubic Inch
Inline 6 cylinder engine that was known for it's simplicity, quiet
and efficient performance and durability. As you can see this car
is extremely easy to service and perform minor repairs and parts
are readily available. This car was sold as a true "Plain Jane" of
the time and was absent of any options including a radio which now
has been located and is in good working condition. An original set
of hubcaps round out the old fashioned look of this well kept
beauty and is sure to turn heads on the road or at your local
cruise night. Older sedans that were once overlooked have now been
gaining in popularity and this is a fun vehicle that you can enjoy
now even as a daily driver. Located in our Chicago showroom, this
classic 1963 Ford Galaxie can be seen including an HD video and
