Vehicle Description
For sale in out Chicago showroom is this unique 1976 Chevrolet El
Camino. '76 was a big year. The United Stated was celebrating 200
years as a nation, The Gumball Rally was in theaters, and the $2
bill was issued. This El Camino is an embodiment of everything
taking place, and is built how it should have been from the
factory. Powered by a 400 cubic inch small block V8 that has been
warmed over, this baby sounds like a revolution. The factory
automatic that all '76 El Caminos came equipped with from the
factory was removed to make space for the Borg-Warner T-10 4-speeed
manual that now occupies that space. Slide onto the front bench
seat and find yourself perfectly positioned to control the engine
and transmission. A quick twist of the key wakes up this American
icon like thunder cracking in a storm. The gears shift smoothly
when cruising around town, and the vehicle is very civilized.
Should the need arise to drop the hammer, however, and this baby
just screams to life. GM should have offered a 4-speed from the
factory, but unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be. This vehicle
brings the spirit of the revolution by changing things to how they
should be, the spirit of the $2 bill by making this car twice as
good as it used to be, and the Camino is so fun, you'll want to
drive it in the Gumball Rally. The "ute" design has always been
very useful, and this just jacks up the fun factor. Options
include: Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts,
Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires with Raised White Letters, and Rally
Wheels. For more information on this '76 El Camino, contact our
