Vehicle Description
For sale in our Chicago showroom is one truly unique 2012 Chevrolet
Corvette Grand Sport. What makes this Corvette so special? Well,
I'm glad you asked. Powering this Vette is the same 376 cubic inch
LS3 that you would find in any other Corvette. What you would not
find, however, is all of the hand-picked upgrades taking this
already impressive machine to unparalleled levels of performance.
Being a California car, and being street driven, there are quite a
few rules and regulations that must be followed, and this car does.
With a Magnusson Heartbeat Supercharger pumping up power to an
estimated 685 horsepower at the crankshaft, up from the Factory
rated 430, as well as the corresponding CARB sticker, this Vette
is an animal. Keeping the engine safe, while running this elevated
power level is a custom tune to alter the engine monitoring system
to make sure that it runs exactly as it should, a dry-sump oiling
system designed to keep the oil out of the intake tract, and a
methanol injection kit to keep the air-fuel mixture from igniting
until exactly when it should. All of that power does a car no good
if it can't be effectively used to move the car. As much as anyone
enjoys a vulgar display of power, such as a burnout, the goal is
always to go faster in a controlled manner. In order to accomplish
that task, PFADT Race Engineering single-adjustable coilover kit
was installed to keep the center of gravity low, and keep the
wheels firmly planted on the ground. While most lowering springs
will ruin the "streetability" of a car, these coilovers keep street
manners at, or better than, OEM feel, while greatly improving
performance during spirited driving. Keeping the car looking good
is a set of OEM Z06 rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport
tires in a 285/35R18 up front, and a massive 345/30R19 out back.
With all the work done to keep the Vette planted, measures needed
to be made inside the car to keep the driver and co-driver firmly
planted in their respective seats. For one, a "Sharkbar," or
harness bar, was installed to allow the use of a 5-point racing
harness. While the factory 3-point harness will to a decent job
keeping you still while driving on the street, this 5-point harness
will keep you locked in while taking high-speed long sweeping
turns, or low-speed hairpins. With such a capable machine, its hard
to list all of the work done to bring this incredible 2012 Corvette
Grand Sport to the level of performance that it is at. Options
include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM/CD, Targa Top, Cruise Control,
Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Anti-Lock
Brakes, Tilt/Telescopic Wheel, Traction Control, Keyless Entry,
Ride Control, Seat Belts, Driver and Passenger Airbag, Anti-Theft
System, Leather Interior, Racing/Alloy Wheels, and a Numbers
Matching Engine and Transmission. For more information, please call
