For sale in our Chicago showroom is an unbelievably low mileage
1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Spyder. After sales of the Corvair
began to pick up after its introduction in 1960 the "Need for
Speed" was recognized and thus the Spyder was created. The standard
flat 6 made, at most, about 100 horsepower. On the Spyder, it was
ditched in favor of a 150 horsepower Turbocharged 6 cylinder, which
was rather peppy in such a small car and this unit came equipped
with the optional 4 speed manual transmission which makes driving
this little classic a true pleasure. This burgundy metallic beauty
is all original, with the only exceptions being a handful of
maintenance items and a set of new "redline" tires. The original
interior is covered in custom fitted plastic covers and is
remarkably well preserved - and why shouldn't it be? After all,
this time capsule has traveled just over 2,230 miles since new! Be
sure to check out that custom headliner and the ultra-cool "Spyder"
rear seat cover! One turn of the key and this turbo 6 cylinder
fires right up and sounds fantastic. If you have ever wondered what
a new '63 Monza Spyder drives like now is your chance to find out.
Nice, solid Corvairs are getting harder to come by and finding an
original un-restored car is even harder yet. Finding a
turbo-charged Monza Spyder with less than 2,300 miles is nearly
impossible. This trophy winner is ready to reap more awards and
accolades and plenty of thumbs up and smiles along the way. Located
in our Chicago showroom this 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900
Spyder can be seen including an HD video and pictures at
