1963 Plymouth Savoy. In 1963 Chrysler developed the 426/415
horsepower Max-Wedge Super Stock which were factory built race cars
that were sold to compete in Super Stock drag race competitions. As
tested in the 1963 issue of Hot Rod Magazine these Savoy with the
426 Max Wedge could run 12.6 seconds in a quarter mile with a top
speed of 112 miles per hour right off the showroom floor without
any modifications. This particular 1963 Savoy was not originally a
Max-Wedge car, but it has been fully restored and upgraded with the
426 , the 727 Torqueflight push button automatic transmission and
the Suregrip rear end with 4:10 gears and with only 6000 miles
since looks as if it is a new car right out of the showroom. The
performance upgrades have surely made this Savoy a much more
desirable car and the appearance of the car has been given a
complete transformation as well. The exterior has been finished in
a stunning high gloss coat of Viper Red paint, which looks amazing
with the new set of American Racing aluminum wheels and the shine
of the chrome accents which are all in near perfect condition. The
interior of this Savoy has been completely gone through also and
has been meticulously maintained since the restoration which you
will notice with the pristine condition of the original dashboard,
the new carpet, and the re-upholstered red and silver vinyl seats
that are flawless not even having a single stitch out of place.
Possibly the best quality of this Savoy is the amazing sound that
rumbles through the 3 inch full dual Flowmaster exhaust that will
have anyone that you pass by giving a second look. This 1963 Savoy
is a real eye catcher inside and out and the only thing that it is
lacking is a new owner that is ready to get plenty of attention as
